The Visual Arts Studio Residency recipients are selected by an Open Name application process. Supporting the International Baccalaureate mission assertion and learner profile, the course encourages college students to actively explore the visual arts within and throughout a wide range of native, regional, nationwide, worldwide and intercultural contexts.
2,000 Degrees: A Fire Odyssey is a three-dimensional exhibition that features whimsical hand-built ceramic sculptures by Japanese artist Kensuke Yamada and beautiful glass creations by Danville native Stephen Rolfe Powell, and highlights new collaborative items created by the artists specifically for this show.
The school’s Minneapolis location gives entry to the downtown cultural group, together with major museums and organizations such as the Walker Artwork middle, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Northern Clay Heart, Highpoint Middle for Printmaking, Intermedia Arts and more.
It’s about getting ready you for the next step after school, whether it is graduate faculty, working as a professional artist, or using your abilities for social causes. You may have quite a few alternatives to exhibit your work in the student gallery on the Heller Center for the Arts and Humanities, the Galleries of Modern Art at UCCS (GOCA 1420 & 121) and in numerous venues throughout town and area.
As college students take part in group activities and observe teamwork on projects, they be taught to acknowledge the worth of working in cooperation with others and are available to understand that the creative course of isn’t at all times solely individual, but usually results from a collective vision.
As artists in this new technological age, we should not lose hope. Our undergraduate levels embody a bachelor of arts (B.A.) in artwork history and bachelor of high-quality arts (B.F.A.) degrees in art training, graphic design, and studio art.
